Jólabókaflóð (Book Flood)

Jólabókaflóð, also known as the Christmas Book Flood or Yule Book Flood, is an Icelandic tradition we're so excited to honor at Book Bar again! This cozy, bookish holiday is considered by many to be a bibliophile's dream, where people gift books to their friends and family on Christmas Eve and often curl up with steaming cups of hot chocolate and then read their new books! We will be hosting our own version of this holiday Book Flood event on Sat., Dec. 20th from 7 - 9 pm.

This event includes, in the cost of your ticket:

-Unlimited hot chocolate with fun flavors and toppings (other menu items available for purchase a la carte)

-Holiday-themed candies/chocolates to sample

-Access to shopping after hours at Book Bar for last-minute gifts for your friends and family (or treat yourself!)

-DIY wrapping station for you to decorate the books you buy

-Exclusive deals available to event attendees only

-Mingle with other book lovers

-Festive holiday music

-A surprise or two along the way!

We will also offer optional crafting activities led by Horizons Creative Studio, including BOOK BEDAZZLING and beaded BOOKMARK MAKING. These activities are not included in your ticket cost, but can be added on in person at the event ($10 per person, per activity. Horizons Creative Studio accepts cash, PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp). For book bedazzling, feel free to bring your own book from home or purchase one here at Book Bar; the choice is yours! All other supplies are provided, including instructional help.

You can spend time mingling during some of our cozy activities or curl up with one of your new books and read by our fireplace or in our other seating areas.

To ensure a quality experience, limited tickets are available and pre-registration is required. You must show your reservation confirmation email at the door upon entrance to the event.
