Juvenile Justice Workshop

This collaboration between Councilman Pineyro and The Florida Public Defender Office would inform our community about important programs and initiatives that aim to shift perspectives, de-escalate conflicts, and ultimately prevent the unnecessary arrest of children.

We strongly believe that parents and children should be well-informed about these topics, and we aim to disseminate this knowledge within our community.

Some of the programs that will be discussed during the workshop will be the following:

1. "Play it Smart" Program

A program that teaches kids about their rights and how to interact with police effectively

2. Consequences Aren't Minor

A program that educates kids and parents about the severe consequences of an arrest, plea, conviction, or adjudication, as well as involvement with the criminal and juvenile justice systems.

3. Record Clearing

Learn the steps and qualifications to have your records sealed or expunged.
