Join Justina Ireland, author of Tales from Cabin 23: The Boo Hag Flex and Hanna Alkaf, author of Tales from Cabin 23: Night of the Living Head as they discuss the Tales from Cabin 23 series.

This program is held in conjunction with the Baltimore Book Festival. The Baltimore Book Festival celebrates Baltimore’s rich literary history, vibrant present, and bright future by connecting readers and authors and making the literary arts more engaging, entertaining, relevant, and accessible for all Baltimoreans. The festival will include literary salons, panel discussions, writing workshops, poetry readings, author talks, book signings, children’s activities, live podcast recordings, and more.

About the Authors:

Justina Ireland is the New York Times bestselling author of Dread Nation, Deathless Divide, Rust in the Root, and Ophie's Ghosts as well as the Star Wars High Republic novels: A Test of Courage, Out of the Shadows, and Mission to Disaster. She is also the cocreator of the middle grade horror series The Tales from Cabin 23 and the author of the series' first book, The Boo Hag Flex. She lives with her family in Maryland, where she enjoys dark chocolate and dark humor and is not too proud to admit that she’s still afraid of the dark. Hanna Alkaf is a critically acclaimed author of books for kids and teens, including The Weight of our Sky, The Girl and the Ghost, Queen of the Tiles and Hamra & the Jungle of Memories and the upcoming The Hysterical Girls of St. Bernadette's. She is also co-editor of the YA anthology The Grimoire of Grave Fates, co-creator and author of the upcoming Middle grade horror series Tales from Cabin 23, and editor of the upcoming middle grade Southeast Asian fantasy anthology The Beasts Beneath the WindsS. She graduated with a degree in journalism from Northwestern University and spent over ten years in journalism and communications before trading in nonfiction for fiction. Hanna is a Freeman Award winner and a Kirkus Prize finalist. She lives in Kuala Lumpur with her family.
