About this Event
The School of Law and Criminal Justice, in partnership with the International Justice and Human Rights Centre, is hosting a one-day conference on Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, with a focus on legal perspectives. The conference will feature all-female panels, providing a platform for female academics and practitioners and offering opportunities for networking and collaboration.
Since 2021, Edge Hill University has been twinned with Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University. Over the past two years, the two institutions have undertaken numerous research and knowledge exchange activities, including the recent launch of a dual degree master’s programme (LLM) in Artificial Intelligence, Digital and Cyber Law.
We will be joined by speakers from Ukrainian and UK institutions who will explore the following themes:
- Technology Law as a tool for rebuilding Ukraine
- Digital Forensics and AI as tools for law-enforcement and justice system reconstruction
- Local governance and public participation in post-war recovery
- Freedom of speech, human rights and constitutional law
- The importance of social dialogue in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine
- Ensuring inclusive and gender-sensitive recovery in Ukraine
