Just Sew You Know - Basics
Join us at the Windsor-Essex Fashion Hub each month for a Tuesday morning or a Thursday evening class to learn the basics of how to sew for $40 (plus Eventbrite fees)!
Participants will have all essential materials provided in the class for the lessons.
What you will learn:
Basics of how to use a sewing machine, including:
- How to identify and name parts of the sewing machine
- How to thread a sewing machine
- How to wind a bobbin
- How to pivot and change directions while sewing
- How to understand tension and when it applies
Different sewing techniques, including:
- How to serge fabric
- How to sew a seam on ½” seam allowance
- How to sew a finished hem
- How to top stitch and edge stitch
- How to sew a 2-button hole and a 4-button hole
- How to gather and pleat
- How to place a dart
