Just Mustard step out of the shadows and into the light on their third album, WE WERE JUST HERE, out November 2024 via Partisan Records. After the dark, submerged intensity of 2022’s Heart Under, the Dundalk five-piece — Katie Ball, David Noonan, Mete Kalyoncuoğlu, Robert Hodgers Clarke, and Shane Maguire — channel their signature warped guitars, industrial textures, and deep bass into something brighter, more euphoric, and defiantly human.
Opening with “POLLYANNA”, inspired by the idea of “toxic happiness,” the album wrestles with optimism and emotional rebirth. Ball’s voice now rises boldly above the noise — from the shimmering pulse of “DREAMER” to the explosive “ENDLESS DEATHLESS.” Produced by the band and mixed by David Wrench (Frank Ocean, FKA twigs), the record blends visceral rock energy with dreamlike production, drawing on the dynamic songcraft of Nirvana and My Bloody Valentine.
Recorded near their hometown in Ireland, WE WERE JUST HERE captures a band embracing light after darkness — an album of cathartic euphoria, restless energy, and the strange beauty of survival.

Just Mustard est un groupe de shoegaze composé de cinq musiciens originaires de Dundalk, en Irlande. Depuis la parution de leur premier album Wednesday, qui mêle trip-hop, noise rock et électro, le collectif s’est imposé comme l’une des formations les plus excitantes de la scène irlandaise. Ce disque, nommé album irlandais de l’année au Choice Music Prize, a également conduit le groupe à signer chez Partisan Records, le label indépendant d’artistes phares tels que IDLES et Cigarettes After Sex.
Le quintet revient avec We Were Just Here, un troisième album où le groupe sort de l’ombre pour embrasser la lumière. Après Heart Under (2022), ils déploient un son plus clair et viscéral, mêlant guitares distordues, textures industrielles et énergie cathartique.
Coproduit avec David Wrench (FKA twigs, Frank Ocean), l’album explore la renaissance émotionnelle et l’euphorie après la tempête, porté par la voix magnétique de Katie Ball.
