Jesse Malin returns to New Jersey after two triumphant performances at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on Sunday and Monday.
A few punk and alt rock legends who call the Jersey Shore home will collaborate to honor Jesse Malin. Brian Fallon, Brian Baker and Pete Steinkopf have conspired to play a set of songs appropriate for the evening.
“What an honor to be a part of Light of Day again this year,” said Danny Clinch. “It has become an international community event in Asbury Park. I love the idea of people coming together to help others. The Transparent Clinch Gallery is ready to host some LOD shows again this year. I will never forget when Joe Grushecky invited me to sit in on harmonica with the Houserockers and Bruce Springsteen for a nine-minute version of ‘Pink Cadillac’. I immediately went straight to Rock and Roll Heaven!”
All performances and events will raise money and awareness for its continuing quest to end Parkinson’s disease and its related illnesses ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) within our lifetime.
Over the course of 25 years, Light of Day has utilized the awesome power of music to raise approximately $6.5 Million for its continuing quest to end Parkinson’s disease, ALS and PSP. Light of Day has grown from a one-day event into a multi-day festival in the metropolitan area. More significantly, Light of Day has expanded into an internationally recognized tour, through a true grassroots effort of musicians, music fans and benefactors. Light of Day shows have taken place around the world on three continents, with shows in England, Wales, Ireland, Sweden, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Spain. Portions of the proceeds from each show are donated to a local Parkinson’s organization.
Light of Day shows are currently taking place throughout Europe with artists including Joe D’Urso, James Maddock, Williams Honor, Bobby Mahoney and guests.
