Jupiter Magazine Presents: Sonic Cradles Live at The Stony Island Arts Bank
About this Event
Sonic Cradles Live at Stony Island Arts Bank, presented in collaboration with Rebuild and Yunomi, gathers writers Tarisai Ngangura, Tembe Denton Hurst, and Briana Pickens alongside musicians Immanuel Wilkins, Ivy Sole, BSA Gold, Angel Bat Dawid, and D-Composed for live performances of their contributions to Jupiter Issue 006, published in collaboration with NTS Radio.
While the NTS broadcast carried these short stories and scores through the airwaves to listeners across geographies, this live program calls Sonic Cradles home. Rooted in Chicago, the city where the project was conceived, the performances create an opportunity to linger physically and collectively within the resonance of each collaboration.
Yunomi will be serving wine, beer, cocktails, and NA options throughout the evening. Tickets are available with a $25 donation. Reserve your spot via the link in our bio.
With gratitude to Tito's Handmade Vodka for supporting this program.
About Jupiter Magazine
Jupiter Magazine is an arts and culture publication which seeks to create conditions that support more viable writing lives and set a new model for engagement with contemporary art and art criticism, co-founded by Camille Bacon and Daria Simone Harper.
About Yunomi
Yunomi is a walk-in bar and lounge space that borrows its name from the traditional Japanese handleless “yunomi” teacups used for everyday tea drinking. Drinking vessels hand-crafted by Theaster Gates’s studio are a curated part of the experience. Cocktails use locally sourced spirits crafted by Chicago’s own Judson & Moore, alongside natural wines, beer from local company Half Acre Beer Co, and NA drinks.
