About this Event

Step beyond Seattle’s iconic skyline and taste the true flavors of Seattle with Seattle Cultural Food Tours. Just 10 minutes from downtown, this 2-hour tour invites you to explore the city’s historic Central District (CD) — a vibrant neighborhood celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and inspiring community spirit.

Preserving the heart of Seattle’s Black community, the Central District tells stories of resilience, creativity, and flavor. As you stroll through its colorful streets, you’ll sample a week’s worth of eateries in one day, from ‘Oprah’s favorite fried chicken’ to indulgent sweet house made treats, refreshing non-alcoholic beverages and more — all crafted by passionate local chefs and business owners.

Along the way, uncover stories that bring the neighborhood to life. Hear about Garfield High School, alma mater of Quincy Jones, Bruce Lee, and Jimi Hendrix, and explore landmarks that reveal the area’s deep cultural legacy. Your guide will share archival photos and local tales that connect past and present, offering a rare insider’s view of a community that continues to define Seattle’s spirit.
