About this Event

Every year, Juneteenth provides an opportunity to uplift the resilience, courage, and ingenuity of the people who lived through slavery in the U.S. and fought for liberation. On Tuesday, June 6th, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Diversity Awareness Partnership invites our community to join us for a presentation and discussion about the profound ways in which Juneteenth sheds light on present-day injustices and resistance efforts as well. We hope you will join us to learn more about the history of Juneteenth, examples of direct action and opposition to slavery, and the myriad lessons that we can draw from the past to help us continue working in solidarity with all marginalized communities in 2023 and beyond. In the words of Emma Lazarus, “Until we are all free, we are none of us free.” Or, as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. put it, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Together, we can create a vision of a future free of injustice, a future in which all of us are truly free.

Thank you to DAP partner the St. Louis Cardinals for sponsoring this event!
