Juneteenth Shabbat

Ever since Juneteenth was declared a national holiday, Temple Emanuel has gathered to celebrate this important day for our country. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we examine King's life and legacy. On Juneteenth, we change our focus to Jews of Color, as well as Jewish involvement in the American Civil Rights Movement.
This year we welcome Afrique Kilimanjaro as our speaker. Afrique is the Publisher and Editor of the African-American newspaper, The Carolina Peacemaker, and a Trustee on the Temple Board.
