About this Event

Welcome to the Juneteenth Jubilee- Floral Crown Workshop! All ages are welcome. Materials will be provided.

Hosted by The Rado Market x florist Joanne Townsend of Design + Revive, this special event celebrates the rich tradition of the flower parade and the significance of flowers in Juneteenth festivities.

Come create beautiful floral crowns, learn about the history and traditions of Juneteenth, and enjoy a day filled with creativity and community spirit. Let’s honor the past and celebrate freedom together through the beauty of flowers. We are giving you and Third Ward your flowers! ?

Enjoy the Rado Market, which will serve refreshments and feature local vendors for a delightful shopping experience.

Materials will be provided.
1. Apron

2. Floral Tape and floral wire (green and clear)

3. Wire Cutters

4. Scissors

5. Fresh Flowers (variety of types and colors)

1. Welcome and Introduction (1:00 PM - 1:15 PM)

• Greetings and opening remarks

• Brief history of Juneteenth and the flower parade tradition

2. Floral Crown Workshop (1:15 PM - 2:15 PM)

• Step-by-step guidance on creating floral crowns

• All materials provided

3. Refreshment Break and Rado Market (2:15 PM - 2:30 PM)

• Enjoy refreshments

• Explore and shop local vendors at the Rado Market

4. Photo Booth Session (2:30 PM - 2:50 PM)

• Take pictures with the flower-adorned photo booth frame

• Group and individual photos

5. Community Sharing and Closing (2:50 PM - 3:00 PM)

• Share your floral crown creations

• Closing remarks and thank you
