What does community building look like to you? Join the Lewis Latimer House and Cool Culture for a Juneteenth Family Festival in celebration of Black history, citizenship, innovation, and community activism. Families will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about the history of Juneteenth through an interactive Juneteenth Timeline Walk
- Experiment with light, construction, and design to create a Light of Freedom Lantern inspired by the legacy of Lewis Latimer
- Collaborate and build bridges through the Community Builders Engineering Challenge
- Represent your community using color, line, and shape by creating a Community Quilt Square and contributing to a Digital Community Quilt
- Reflect on the impact you can make by decorating and Planting a Legacy Seed Pot
- Create a Community Builder Button that symbolizes what community and innovation look like to you
- Participate in an interactive dance workshop with the Queensboro Dance Festival
- Learn more about the life and legacy of Lewis Latimer through self-guided tours of the Lewis Latimer House galleries
- Enjoy lawn games such as giant Connect 4 and cornhole

This FREE, family-friendly event is open to all. Reserve your spot today and join us on June 13th from 1pm-4pm at the historic Lewis Latimer House for a celebration like no other!
