Juneteenth Celebration: Buiding Bridges Through Song
About this Event
This annual event honors that historic moment on June 19th , two years after the Emancipation Proclamation when Texas took the final step toward freedom. Music, readings and community participation will be championed by Building Bridges Through Song, the Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Voices of God’s Children and Twin City Choristers.
It will be both spirit-filled and uplifting, encouraging attendees to lift their voices in unity and remembrance as we celebrate Juneteenth. The event will include singing “Small Praise” a tribute to the late Richard Smallwood and in honor of Black Music Month.
Admission is free, but advance sign-up is encouraged to help us prepare for a welcoming and inclusive experience for all.
