Please only RSVP if you 100% plan to attend so as to allow space for those interested*Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery with Galveston Bay being the last town freed by Union troops on June 19th, 1865. During The Great Migration that followed, Chicago’s Southside became a new home for many.
In celebration of Juneteenth 2024, Miyagi Records seeks to honor this historical holiday with a curated evening for community, family, neighbors and friends.
Swing by starting at 7pm for an all-vinyl dj set by rahhova and food cooked to perfection by Chef Choosewisely of Beats, Sneaks, and Eats.
The Shop will be open but we’ve also invited a few local vendors Calli Decor, Red Elephant Candle Co, Unity Hues, and Prints by Niquor to join the festivities - it’s the perfect chance to support locals and their various offerings.
Closing out the evening, we’re excited to screen the 90s classic “Poetic Justice” at 8pm (possibly outdoors if weather cooperates!)
Let’s kick off summer BBQ season proper :) WAX ON!
