Juneteenth Block Party with A Sickle Cellabration

Join us for this Juneteenth Block Party at the Source of Knowledge Book Store!

The party starts on Treat Place, the street behind the bookstore, with “A Sickle Cellabration” at 10am. The Sickle Cellabration is a “world-themed” festival of fun and learning. We will have a presentation on the new gene therapies and other treatments for sickle cell disease. SCANJ will award academic scholarships to students with sickle cell disease. In keeping with the theme, the food will feature international cuisine.

Block Party activities include Author’s Circle book readings, free book giveaways, a Drum Circle, Face painting, Shine The Light on sickle cell disease crafts, a DJ, Juneteenth games with prizes, and Food trucks.

All activities are free, however, to be eligible for special give a ways and food, you must be registered.
