Film Tampa Bay Presents is a quarterly series designed to showcase Tampa Bay-area films, filmmakers, actors, and locations through FREE community screenings at Tampa Theatre. On Wednesday, June 19th, the series brings Black Filmmakers together for a night of networking, in-depth conversations, and screenings of four local films on the Tampa Theatre screen, including Agent X Quarantine, directed by Jabaar Edmond and starring Cranstan Cumberbatch.
Filmmakers Cranstan Cumberbatch Jabaar Edmond of Dreammakerz Productions , co-founders of Black Arts & Film Festival and the Sunshine City Film Festival, joins forces with Film Tampa Bay to bring this event to Tampa Theatre. The FREE event kicks off at 6:00 pm with a short films block, including:
Simi, written and directed by Debbie Garrett and co-directed by Cumberbatch, is the story of a young child whose illness sends him into a coma. As time passes, Simi awakens as an adult set on a new journey of self-discovery to find his purpose, as well as the cause of his condition. Simi’s life becomes even more complicated when he discovers he has supernatural abilities.
Horror film, The Mini Lights, directed by Jibri Wright, warns viewers to be careful what they read because some passages lead to the resurrection of the dead.
Nothing Else Matters, directed by Cranstan Cumberbatch, follows the story of Keelan Foster, an entry-level client-relations rep who decides to take a leap of faith to win over the affection of Monica Shepley, an upper-level senior-accounts manager. When his plan to catch her eye gets interrupted by Monica’s friends (and her ex), discover if Foster will buckle under the pressure, or if he will prove that when it comes to love…Nothing Else Matters.

At 8:00 pm, Tampa Theatre will screen the Tampa premiere of the feature film, Agent X Quarantine, directed by Jabaar Edmond, followed by a panel discussion with the director, cast and crew. Agent X (played by Cumberbatch) is a former-military-mercenary-turned-secret-agent. As he navigates the underworld of crypto-currency, cyber-security & Big Data, he finds himself tangled in a deep web of murder, money, revenge, and action, all in the midst of a worldwide shutdown. Faced with uncompromising circumstances, he finds that revenge is an epidemic that can’t be contained.
The first 150 patrons receive a free soda and popcorn. Admission is FREE, but reservations are required by clicking the showtime.
