Juneteenth at South-View Cemetery with the Praise House Project

REMEMBERING FREEDOM -RECALLING THE PRAISE HOUSE AS A DRUM IN HONOR OF JUNETEENTH AT SOUTH-VIEW

The Praise House Project celebrates Juneteenth at South-View Cemetery with a drum and dance procession by Giwayen Mata and an evening performance by vocalist Julie Dexter.

Begining with a historic tour at 4 PM and ending with an illumination of the Praise House, the celebration will honor the African American history of our city and the over 80,000 ancestors who rest at South-View Cemetery.

4PM - Historic Tour of South-View

6PM - Drum and Dance Procession by Giwayen Mata at the Praise House, 2017 Jonesboro Rd SE

7PM - Illumination of the Praise House

8PM - Porch Performance by jazz vocalist, Julie Dexter at the New Freedom studio, 1884 Jonesboro Rd. SE.

9PM - Open mic

All walking distance to South-View.

ADA ACCESS: There are three stairs onto the porch. All guests and volunteers are available to assist.
