June Pokemon Gym Leader Challenge - Learn & Play event

Join us for a Gym Leader Challenge (GLC) Pokémon TCG event—perfect for both new players and experienced trainers! Entry is $5 per person. Come learn, compete, and be part of building Wichita’s Pokémon community!

🃏 Loaner Decks Available (Limited):
If you need a deck, message us ahead of time to reserve one.
⚠️ No message = no guarantee a deck will be available
💡 Experienced players: bringing extra loaner decks is highly encouraged to help grow the community!
Prizing: A store gift card will be awarded to the winner. The amount will be based on how many entrants we have.

- No deck list submission required
- Gym Leader Challenge format
- Beginner-friendly, but structured tournament play

🕛 Event Schedule:
4 – 4:30 PM → Learn to Play / GLC Intro
- We’ll teach the basics of Pokémon TCG
- Walk through the Gym Leader Challenge format
- Help new players get set up and comfortable
👉 New players should arrive right at 4:00 PM
4:30 PM – 7:00 PM → Tournament Play
- Structured rounds begin promptly at 4:30
- Players should be ready and checked in before rounds start
- No late entries once tournament play begins
👉 Experienced players can arrive closer to 4:30 PM

Structure / Rules
🏆 Tournament Format Rounds start at 4:30 PM:
3–5 rounds depending on time
- Players are paired each round
- Each win = 1 point
- Player with the most points at the end wins
Pairings:
- Round 1 is random
- Later rounds pair players with similar records
Tiebreakers:
- If there is a tie for first, a playoff match may be played
- If time does not allow, prizing may be split
Important:
- Players must be checked in by 4:30 PM
- No late entries once tournament begins
