Our in-person guest is Austin Kight who joined Martin-Harris Construction in 2003 with a background in Corporate Communications, Marketing and Administration. Founded in 1976 and currently ranked as the largest General Contractor in Las Vegas by Vegas Inc. Magazine, Martin-Harris Construction is a leader within the industry and the Southern Nevada community. Austin ensures internal and external programs align with the company’s strategic goals and Core Values. Specific to procurement, she oversees the Subcontractor “Opportunity Program” and ensures company policies and procedures support the company’s commitment for awarding contracts and subcontracts to small, minority, women, veteran, and disadvantaged business concerns from all possible sources Austin is supported by a team of professionals that are passionate about ensuring Martin-Harris sets their small business subcontractors up for success. Martin-Harris’s approach to subcontractor and vendor inclusion is three pronged, incorporating Outreach Efforts, Educational Workshops and Strategic Partnership Events. On the Las Vegas Convention Center Expansion project Martin-Harris is joint ventured with Turner Construction, they achieved over 20% participation from local, disadvantaged business enterprises.
