Join us for this dynamic and engaging luncheon featuring our AFP Memphis 2023 Fundraising Executive of the Year, Zach Pretzer. Zach will be offering valuable insights into strategically stewarding donors and board members. This engaging session will emphasize fostering robust relationships and promoting sustainable philanthropy. Zach will provide in-depth exploration of major and capital gift strategies, spotlighting effective approaches to cultivating long-term donor partnerships and maximizing philanthropic impact. Attendees can expect to gain actionable ideas and compelling examples, leaving equipped to elevate stewardship strategies across all facets of their organization.
Networking begins and lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. The program starts at Noon. Lunch by everyone’s favorite: Big Momma’s & Granny’s Catering.
Zach M. Pretzer, MS, CFRE
Zach Pretzer has over 18 years of experience in philanthropic leadership, healthcare-related fundraising and administration, and higher education development/alumni engagement. He holds a master’s degree from UT-Knoxville, a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College, and earned CFRE distinction in 2013. He was named the Association of Fundraising Professionals (Memphis) Fundraising Executive of the Year in 2023. He was also selected as a Memphis Business Journal 40 under 40 in 2020.
Pretzer’s experience in Memphis includes currently serving as President of the Methodist Healthcare Foundation, where he has led all fundraising efforts for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare’s adult hospitals and programs, and has managed the Foundation team since 2019. From 2017-2019 he served as Director of Major Gifts for the Methodist Healthcare Foundation, and prior to joining MLH, he was the Senior Director of Development for the UTHSC College of Medicine from 2011-2017.
Pretzer lives in East Memphis with his wife, Ann, and their two children Zoe (13) and Jonas (11), who both attend Grace-St. Luke’s School. Pretzer serves on the Board of Trustees at Grace-St. Luke’s School and volunteers on other local board/leadership committees as well. His hobbies and interests outside of philanthropic leadership include volunteer coaching youth sports teams, playing tennis and basketball, and guitar/singing/songwriting.
