Saturday, June 27th, 2026
5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Tuition: $60, Materials: $23
Join for us for the first of five unique instances of the "Introduction to Humanities: Book Club Dinner Party" class!
Each of these dinner party gatherings will feature a selection of beverages, a salad, and an entree prepared by Lacey, as well as a brief presentation about the history and cultural context of the meal. Students may opt in to contributing a side dish or dessert if they would like, but this is not required. Each gathering will feature discussion dedicated to an assigned book or artifact. Cumulatively, this series is an exploration of the humanities, the field of study that blends inquiry into history and literature, as well as the humanist philosophical tradition. Students will consider the merits and drawbacks of humanist values and ideals while studying the humanities.
While this class functions as a cohesive series, it is also accessible as individual classes. Students who enroll in all five parts of this series will benefit from a discount on the materials fee, a $50 value. See our "Membership Class Pass" option to purchase all five classes at a discount. This month's "artifact" will be "Humanly Possible: 700 Years of Humanist Freethinking, Inquiry, Hope" by Sarah Bakewell and the meal will be Breakfast for Dinner: Biscuits and Pork Gravy.
