Food pantry visits are rising due to increasing grocery prices, higher costs for everyday necessities, job losses, gas prices that make it costly to even get to work and health challenges that limit people’s ability to work. As the need for assistance grows, public funding is being diverted to other government priorities, and federal assistance for people in need of food support is becoming more limited.
We are collecting groceries and hygiene items to donate to Integrated Family Community Services (IFCS), a local food pantry that has partnered with the community to alleviate hunger since 1964. IFCS helps supplement assistance available through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly called food stamps).
IFCS welcomes any unopened grocery item with an expiration date of 2025 or later. They especially appreciate items that cannot be purchased with SNAP, such as toiletries, feminine hygiene items and diapers. Please don't donate anything you wouldn't offer as a gift to a neighbor as these ARE our neighbors!
In 2025, over 48,000 people took home groceries from IFCS. That number doesn't include the number of children and frail or elderly people at home, and it doesn't include the other necessities provided by IFCS (e.g., diapers for small children and sanitary supplies). IFCS also assisted over 800 individuals with homelessness prevention.
Together, we can help those in need in our community. Thank you for caring. Your contribution improves people's lives.
