Jumpstart Into Weaving

Weaving is the method by which cloth is created using a loom. It is art (expressive) & craft (functional), meditative & creative. In this workshop, we will produce wholly original textiles through a stream-of-consciousness experience. Workshop fee: $200 — inclusive of frame loom, weaving accessories, & yarn. Please come prepared with a willingness to experiment & have fun!

INSTRUCTOR

By day, Raquel Rosa is a disability advocate; by weekend, a fiber artist. She has been a weaver for 18 years & a teacher of freeform weaving since 2008. Her repertoire includes crochet, embroidery, spinning, & needlefelting. Raquel is based in Alexandria, Virginia, where she lives with over 50 houseplants & a lot of yarn.
