Join us on the 26th with Special Guest Caroline Pittman-Florenez, of Peer Support Space. She will share her experiences with the LGBTQ+ community and her advocacy. Peer Support Space was founded as a peer-led organization that exists outside of the current system, where we use our lived experience to support and hold space for one another as we navigate our unique journeys with life struggles, mental illness, and/or substance misuse challenges, grief, or other obstacles to mental wellness. We use, and help others use, the power of lived experience to support, educate, and guide one another while providing additional, free options for mental wellness. WHAT ARE GATHERINGS? Christ-centered support gatherings welcoming LGBTQ+ individuals, loved ones, and allies from all denominations. Whether you’re exploring how to be a better ally, looking for community, or hoping to share and listen to real experiences, you are welcome here. Together, we celebrate faith, love, and the unique journeys that make each of us
who we are.
HOW IS A GATHERING? We begin with a hymn, followed by a prayer, and then make announcements on events happening in the community. We also feature "Rainbow Connection" (a discussion about the advocacy we have undertaken with the LGBTQ+ community over the last month) and address a topic. Then we let our special guest share their story with us.
Water and light refreshments will be provided. If you would like to bring snacks to share, that would be wonderful.
