July 4 PM in Seattle: 3-hour Public Sail Aboard Schooner Adventuress

Join us for Independence Weekend! Our 3-hour Public Sails are designed to get everybody involved, and no sailing experience is required. They are a perfect way to explore Puget Sound and learn about our unique marine environment while sailing aboard the historic schooner Adventuress. From the moment we get under way you'll be invited to help raise the sails or take a turn at the wheel. As we explore the Puget Sound/Salish Sea, the crew will explain it's unique marine environment and share the history of Adventuress. Then listen to a sea chantey, a talk from an on-board guest or crew member -- or just sit back and take in the whole experience.
Reflecting on our Nation’s Milestone
As we mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Sound Experience recognizes this historic milestone in American democracy. Sailing ships played a role in the story of independence. Aboard the National Historic Landmark schooner Adventuress, we cultivate the next generation of environmental stewards and shipmates whose voices and actions will shape the next 250 years of our shared American story. We celebrate the founding of our nation as a pluralistic society. We honor the diverse stories and peoples who lived on these lands for millennia, all who settled here, and the complex history of the founding of our nation and Washington State. Through transformative on-the-water education for youth and young adults throughout the Salish Sea, Sound Experience works to strengthen a future that reflects the promise of freedom and liberty for all.

Infants aged 0-1 are free, but must have a ticket. The US Coast Guard regulates exactly how many people are on board, including infants and young children. Make sure you have a ticket for each person in your party before boarding.
