Celebrate the 4th of July in the Nation’s Oldest City at Fireworks Over the Matanzas, one of the largest fireworks displays on the East Coast. Enjoy the reflection of the fireworks as they are set off from a barge in the Matanzas Bay.
Begin the evening at 6:00 p.m. with a 4th of July Concert in the Plaza de la Constitucion. This two-hour show is filled with big band and swing music. The All-Star Orchestra’s performance from the Plaza’s Gazebo runs from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The concert is free and those attending should bring lounge chairs for seating.
Then at 9:00 p.m. the spectacular display of fireworks begins choreographed to a soundtrack of patriotic and popular music delivered over a sound system along the entire Bayfront between the Castillo and the Bridge of Lions. That is where you will find some of the best vantage points and as well as from on the Bridge of Lions.
