Miano Academy invites you to join our Apprentices and experience the Atelier lifestyle!
Step into our studio this summer and feel the pulse of the Italian Renaissance come alive. This six-week intensive gives you the opportunity to study full time, five days a week, in our world-class Apprenticeship program. You will be introduced to Charles Miano’s signature method of Atelier training, influenced by the principles of the Renaissance and the techniques of old masters.
We’re immersing ourselves in the essence of this iconic era. From June’s focus on portrait studies to July’s exploration of figure drawing, we’ll explore anatomy, forms, shapes, and value, learning from the masters who paved the way centuries ago. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just beginning your journey, our studio is a sanctuary for genuine expression and creative growth.
In July, the focus shifts to dynamic Renaissance-style figure drawing at Miano Academy. This immersive program offers participants a unique opportunity to study the human form and anatomy with precision and vitality. Drawing inspiration from the techniques of the Renaissance masters, students will learn to infuse their drawings with life and movement, mastering the art of conveying emotion and energy on paper.
You will work individually on a figure drawing along side our full time students in classes and critiques. You will work in graphite and charcoal, developing and deepening your fundamental understanding of Shape, Form, and Value. Each week will include five days a week, 9-12 hours of drawing from life.
