Judy Garland Christmas Special starring Peter Mac as Judy Garland

Back in 1963, the legendary star of stage and screen Judy Garland starred in a now-iconic Christmas special on CBS. Today tribute artist Peter Mac steps into Garland's high heels in a salute to this beloved TV event. Mac, a self-described "male actress" who's portrayed the late, great actress to audiences and critical acclaim for more than a decade, is known for his seriously fun and loving tributes to Garland. Famed for bringing a nuanced glimpse into Garland's complex personality and inner life, Mac was awarded a Golden Halo Award by Garland's co-stars Mickey Rooney and Margaret O'Brien for his stunningly accurate portrayal.

Audiences are bound to have themselves a merry little Christmas at the “Judy Garland Christmas Special,” starring cabaret artist Peter Mac as the titular legend of the stage and screen. In 1963, six years before Judy Garland died at the age of 47, the icon invited audiences into her home for the holiday episode of “The Judy Garland Show,” featuring her children, Liza Minnelli and Lorna and Joey Luft, as well as guest stars Jack Jones and Mel Torme. Mac steps into Garland’s ruby slippers to recreate and honor the beloved TV event, which aired on Dec. 22 of that year on CBS. Expect some of the classic musical numbers from Judy’s Christmas episode, which included “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” “Little Drops of Rain,” and “Over the Rainbow,” as well as special “guests” specific to Mac’s recreation — including Bea Arthur.

This show is indeed a coming home for Christmas - Mac last presented the Judy Garland Christmas Special to critical acclaim here in Los Angeles in 2012. He is honored to be performing the show at the legendary historic Woman's Club of Hollywood.
