The City of Tucson will celebrate the unveiling of the Judith 'Mama' Blair Basketball Courts on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 9 a.m. at Palo Verde Park, transforming former tennis courts into a modern athletic facility honoring Judith Blair, the late mother of former University of Arizona and NBA standout Joseph Blair, who has spent over two decades mentoring Tucson youth through free basketball camps focused on leadership and life skills. The $575,000 project was funded through a combination of $232,000 from the City of Tucson's general fund, $250,000 from the Ward 2 office, and over $100,000 in private donations, with fundraising still ongoing.
