Judge for Yourself – Supreme Court
About this Event
“(The presenters) brought real experience and understanding of sentencing that was so valuable to (participants') understanding.” – Previous participant
Enter our courtroom. Decide the sentence. Judge for yourself.
Step into the shoes of a Supreme Court judge with the Queensland Sentencing Council’s free, interactive workshop based on a real-life case.
Judge for Yourself shows participants there is more to a sentence than just the headlines.
Council member and Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Nathan Crane will provide valuable insight into the criminal justice system and the complex task of sentencing those who break the law.
We delve into what happened, the surrounding circumstances, and the factors a judge must consider when determining a sentence.
Then it’s up to you.
This session is open to all, regardless of your experience with the justice system.
Following the session, participants have the option of taking part in a tour of the QEII Courts of Law.
