Jubilee Crafts and Storytime! : Stitched Stories Summer Workshop
About this Event
Stitched Stories is a summer storytime + art workshop series hosted by Miss Lily, exploring memory keeping, family traditions, and the rich history of Black narrative textiles through storytelling and hands-on crafts labs inspired by the artists: Harriet Powers, The Gee's Bend Quilters, Faith Ringgold, Yinka Shonibare, Tschabalala Self, and Bisa Butler.
Children will discover how artists have used fabric, quilting, and textile traditions to preserve stories, culture, and identity across generations while creating their own textile-inspired works.
