Joyful Learning for the Middle School Mind
About this Event
Description
Middle school is often viewed as the awkward in-between, yet emerging developmental research reveals early adolescence (ages 11–14) as a time of remarkable growth—when young people begin shaping identity, forging lasting relationships, and discovering their sense of agency.
In this workshop, you’ll explore how we might design experiences that center joyful learning, align with the science of early adolescent development, and prepare students for the complexities of the 21st century. You will apply these concepts directly to an aspect of your work as a middle school educator, leaving with a concrete next step and a new perspective on the students with whom you interact every day.
