JOY IN THE CITY: A Gospel Christmas Celebration

The 8th Joy In The City, a Gospel Christmas Celebration, is making its much-anticipated return to Royal City Mission! Get ready to fill downtown Guelph with the uplifting sounds of Gospel music, the joyous spirit of Christmas, and a vibrant sense of community.

There’s nothing quite like the soothing melodies sung by the JITC Choir, and we are absolutely delighted to welcome you. This year, we have an amazing lineup featuring:

• Latoya (H-D) Hall-Downer (GTA - Jamaica)
• Michael Manhertz (GTA)
• Rachel Guthrie (Guelph)
• SamSong (Nigeria)
• Keturah Morris (Hamilton)
• Carrie Wilson-Guse (Kitchener-Waterloo)
• Michael Austin Harris (Guelph)
• Our Artistic Director, Verese Vassell-Bowen (Guelph)

Thank you to our sponsors and partners, the City of Guelph, Guelph Black Heritage Society, the Buttahfly Initiative and the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition, for their continued support, which allows us to produce a world-class production and support our community engagement with Music Speaks! Gospel Music Workshops, clinicians, artists, and musicians, and uniting our Guelph and surrounding communities through the power of Gospel Music.

If you've recently visited downtown, you may have noticed changes due to the ongoing Wyndham Street infrastructure renewal. But don’t let the construction signs mislead you; #downtownguelph remains open and vibrant.

Whether you’ve been part of this Gospel music tradition from the beginning or you are joining us for the first time, we've saved a seat just for YOU! Come and be uplifted by the harmonious sounds of JOY returning to the heart of downtown Guelph.
