About this Event
Join us for Joy for Jordan Day, a heartfelt community celebration honoring the memory and beautiful spirit of Jordan Reid-el, a brave 11 year old born with CMV who found joy in books and continues to inspire children, families, and community members.
Joy for Jordan Day is now an official Baltimore City holiday thanks to Mayor Brandon Scott and Brown Girl Wellness. This special day is rooted in childhood wellness, literacy, inclusion, accessibility, remembrance, and community joy.
Families are invited to gather on June 18th from 11 AM to 2 PM at St. Francis Neighborhood Center, with outdoor activities taking place next door at Whitelock Farm.
Guests can enjoy:
• Journaling activities
• Face painting
• Snacks
• Free snowballs by Young Sovereign Negus for the first 50 guests
• Free Foto Bombers Photo Booth
• Family friendly activities for children of all ages
• Outdoor activities at Whitelock Farm, located right next to the community center
• A special table hosted by Sunflower Mamas
• Opportunities to celebrate literacy, wellness, and community connection
About Sunflower Mamas:
Sunflower Mamas is a healing centered community for mothers who have experienced the loss of a child. Rooted in remembrance, connection, and turning toward the light, Sunflower Mamas creates space for mothers to gather, breathe, honor their children, and support one another with compassion.
This event is a beautiful way to honor Jordan’s love of books while creating a joyful space for children and families to come together, play, reflect, connect, and celebrate life.
