Family and friends, we are excited to share the save-the-date information for the three events surrounding the arrival of our daughter, Journey J’Nelle. 💕✨
👑 The Journey Begins Countdown — Baby Shower

This will be a fun celebration with games, food, refreshments, personalized gift-making, and memories for Journey. Everyone will have the opportunity to create a personalized gift or keepsake for her. If the weather permits, we may also enjoy some pool fun!
🏡 Preparing the Nest — Nesting Party
Saturday, November 7, 2026
This will be a hands-on preparation day to help cover any uncovered days on our meal train and prepare our home for a smooth transition when Journey arrives and Mama needs time to heal.
Think of it as a housewarming-style gathering with food and refreshments, where guests also help prepare and set up the home. The goal is to make postpartum recovery more organized, comfortable, and manageable.
🤍 She Has Arrived — Blessing & Helping Hands Day

This will be a meet-and-greet and helping day divided into three visit windows so people can choose the time that works best for their schedule.
Morning: A specifically invited group of women of faith and prayerful supporters will bless the home, share scriptures, write prayers, and create personalized scripture keepsakes to place throughout the house.
Afternoon: Helpers and guests will be able to spend time with Journey while also bringing finger foods, preparing lactation-support cookies, assisting with household tasks, and helping keep the home comfortable.
Evening: This will be a smaller, RSVP-based visiting window for people in our close support circle who would like a quieter opportunity to spend time with Journey, support Mama while she cares for herself, help with the baby, and assist with dinner and cleanup.
The different time windows allow us to welcome people thoughtfully while respecting Journey’s needs, Mama’s recovery, and everyone’s schedules.
Journey J’Nelle’s First Steps Fund
The Facebook Marketplace visuals we share are examples of items we are actively trying to obtain for Journey and our postpartum preparation. They will show the comparable Amazon or registry price, the Marketplace price, and the potential savings.
We are asking supporters to help fund these purchases so we can secure the items at Marketplace prices—or find comparable items for less than Amazon or the registry price. We will steward every contribution carefully and use the most cost-effective option available.
If someone wants to sponsor or purchase a specific Marketplace item, please contact us first so we can confirm that it is still available and needed. As items are purchased or secured, we will mark the corresponding registry items off to prevent duplicate gifts.
Support may also include registry gifts, groceries, freezer meals, delivery orders, baby supplies, postpartum needs, and household assistance.
Because Journey’s due date is December 16, we are committing 16% of net monetary contributions, after processing fees, toward two recovering families:
* One veteran family recovering from homelessness
* One family recovering from domestic violence and homelessness
The support will be divided as fairly as possible, with a maximum of $250 per family, or $500 total. For every $500 raised, approximately $80 will be reserved for this commitment. If $3,125 is raised, the full $500 maximum will be available.
