Journey of the Fool - Intro to Tarot Part 1

In this class we will approach Tarot as a story so we can translate the messages and lessons entwined in the fanciful designs and charaters. Approaching Tarot as a story creates a comprehensive and orderly understanding to the messages conveyed.

Beginning with the first card of the deck, we will meet "The Fool" who begins his journey with a pure heart that is wide open to life. Together we will follow this journey through the deck of Tarot to meet all the fascinating characters and experiences represented in each card.

Just like the fool, we too, are guided and influenced along our path by many teachers and situations. Learning to understand the vast symbolisms will awaken your senses to the many messages being revealed to us everyday in our daily surroundings. I'm sure in no time, you will recgnize "The Fool" in us all!

I have designed this class to be presented in a fun and amusing way, yet filled with a formidable amount of information in which to build a serious foundation and understanding of Tarot.

Journey of the Fool - Part 1 is the first in a series of classes on Tarot. Part 1 will focus on the Major Arcana and the storyline of The Fools Journey.

In this series we will acquaint ourselves with:

• Major and Minor Arcana
• Qualities attributed to the four suits
• Significance associated with numbers
• Reverse Cards vs Upright
• Reading etiquette
• Relevance to our modern day playing cards
• How to choose and care for your own Tarot Deck

We will be using the Rider Waite Deck as it is universally known and will provide a strong foundation for you to translate into reading other decks. It will also enable us to follow along together on one deck.

Class Materials:

I will provide you with handouts of class information and a personal folder for you to collect all your information and notes.

Each student will need their own Rider Waite Deck. These can be purchased locally or on Amazon. Please let me know if you need help finding this. I may have an extra but need to know ahead of time.
