Journey For Justice Bus Tour + A Culture of Compassion Collective

A Culture of Compassion Collective is a partnership between Light of Loving Kindness, Tribe Learning Cooperative, and United Evangelical Consulting Association (DBA Cultural Canvas Cafe) to offer a space for creative expression, healing, and community to young people, their families, and our broader community.

On October 9th, the Journey to Justice Bus Tour (see details below) will be parked next to the Cultural Canvas Cafe. As part of our contribution to this unique tour, community members are invited to stop by our new community garden space, participate in journaling and art making, and experience a variety of arts-based healing modalities.

"The Journey to Justice" Bus Tour aims to highlight the horrors and widespread use of solitary confinement in immigration detention and federal, state, and local prisons, jails, and juvenile detention centers. The Bus will be parked at 1242 W. 103rd St. and will leverage VR and immersive digital experiences to illustrate the harsh realities of solitary conefinement. Each stop will also feature a model solitary cell and a photo exhibit, "Windows into Solitary," further humanizing the statistics.
