Journaling with Alina Liao as an act of resistance and a means of intentional community-building
About this Event

In partnership with Alina Liao, founder of Zenit Journals, this summer's Meditative Journaling workshops are designed to be a safe, inclusive space to show up as you are and experience the healing power of journaling in community with each other. Each month, we'll gather, and Alina will guide us in journaling activities with prompts centered on a wellness topic.

Free scholarships for BIPOC trauma survivors are available. When it comes to free programming, we are interested in calling in communities that have been historically “othered” by the wellness industry or targeted by systemic oppression or violence. To apply, please email [email protected] at least 48 hours before the workshop begins.

About Eaton Wellness

Eaton Wellness offers care, healing and expansion to outliers, activists, allies and those closest to injustice. It is inspired by our lived experiences and many lineages of ancient traditions that take a holistic approach to human progress and wellbeing. Eaton is a home for intersectional workshops such as harp yoga and watercolor meditation; alternative therapies ranging from Reiki to lymphatic drainage bodywork; and immersive, sensory experiences including infrared saunas and sound baths. Every offering is priced to support our community, holding spaces for marginalized people and essential workers to participate for free, and our wellness values carry through to clean food and beverage options throughout Eaton's hotel, restaurant and cafes. Our Wellness retail program supports sustainably sourcing, BIPOC-owned and womxn-owned businesses, while a wide array of our guests create and contextualize innovations that lead to consciousness-expansion, in the spirit of retreats such as Esalen and Burning Man.

About Alina Liao and Zenit Journals

Alina Liao started Zenit Journals to make it easier for people to experience the healing power of journaling, especially people of color, who have historically faced, and continue to face, systemic barriers to health and wellness. She brings former experiences providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive mental health coaching to youth and people of color, as well as developing healing-centered trauma-training programs in collaboration with mental health clinicians, social workers, and youth advisors. She has a Master of Art in Education and Master of Business Administration from Stanford University, as well as certifications in Supporting Students Exposed to Trauma by Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) and Mental Health First Aid by the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI).
