José Ray will take over the Drive Thru Art Box at Green Truck Pub from October 10th - December 8th, 2022! Join us for a Happy Hour Artist Talk at the Art Box on Thursday, October 13th from 6 - 8 PM!For this installation, José Ray is working on transparent plexi-glass with mixed media and light to create an engaged and fantastical landscape. During the day, the elements will be illuminated from the outside by natural light and passing reflections. At night, the elements will glow from within and dance with the splendor of Fall.
Color, rhythm, and harmony are always guiding principles in José's work, but they will be pushed to rediscover their connections in this new landscape.
Born and raised in the midwest, José grew up with a love for wide-open exploration and do-it-yourself spirit. That outlook took him in many different directions but was always building the knowledge and skills to eventually set him on the path toward a creative profession. In late 2007, he moved to Savannah, GA to attend the Savannah College Of Art and Design where he started to put all the pieces together and really develop as an artist. By the time he graduated in 2011, he had fallen in love with Savannah due to her beauty, climate, and pace of life.
José still lives in Savannah where he works as a multi-faceted artist. You can find his work on the gallery walls, in public murals, in the children's bookstore, and you can even find him in the DJ booth downtown!
