Joslyn Castle Winter Art Showcase

Where: Joslyn Castle & Gardens (3902 Davenport Street, Omaha, NE 68131)

When: Friday, December 12 from 5pm-8pm in the Carriage House Galleries and 6pm-10pm in the Joslyn Castle.

What: A FREE all ages event.

The Joslyn Castle Carriage House Cafe Gallery will host a solo exhibition of artwork by Stephanie Carlson-Pruch. Stephanie is an artist and educator from Omaha who currently teaches at the Joslyn Art Museum. Her first solo show features small mixed media pieces as a Study of Nature and Academic Disciplines. 

The “OurStory: Building Aging-Ready Housing at Scale” exhibition features work created by undergraduate architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design students mentored by professor and architect Jeffrey L. Day, FAIA. The evening includes a public reception with a lecture at 6 pm led by Day.

The Castle & Cathedral District presents a solo exhibition of artwork by Dan Crane on display in the Joslyn Castle Morning and Gold Rooms. Join us for the opening reception on the first floor of the Castle from 6pm-10pm!

Dan Crane turns wood and fabric into vibrant, hard-edge compositions that mix abstraction, figuration, and pop culture. His works reference everything from Sesame Street to the rise of Ai. From the Protestant Reformation to 1990’s Lamborghinis, Crane blends nostalgia, critique, and irreverent humor. Influenced by a wide range of aesthetics and artists (i.e. Ellsworth Kelly, Lucas Cranach the Elder, Jim Henson, etc.), he treats play seriously, creating pieces that are at once precise, chaotic, and delightfully unpredictable.
