About this Event
Josh Tatofi is a Honolulu‑born vocalist whose rich, velvet tone and emotional precision have earned him a place among the most celebrated voices in contemporary Hawaiian and Pacific music. Raised in a deeply musical family—his father, Tivaini Tatofi, was a founding member of the iconic island group Kapena—Tatofi grew up immersed in performance and melody, stepping onstage as early as age eight and developing a natural command of both Hawaiian and R&B vocal traditions.
His breakout came with the 2016 release of Pua Kiele, a Hawaiian‑language album that earned him two Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards—Male Vocalist of the Year and Island Music Album of the Year—and later a Grammy nomination in the Regional Roots category.
Tatofi’s follow‑up album, Ua Kui A Lawa (2019), cemented his status as a generational talent, sweeping five Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards including Album of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, and Single of the Year for “Melia.” He also received international recognition as the Pacific Music Awards’ Best International Pacific Artist in 2020.
Known for his seamless blend of Hawaiian mele, soulful balladry, and R&B influences inspired by artists like Luther Vandross and Pebo Bryson, Tatofi brings a rare emotional depth to his performances. His voice—warm, resonant, and unmistakably intimate—has made him a standout figure on stages across Hawai‘i, the Pacific, Japan, and beyond.
Today, Josh Tatofi continues to expand his global presence while remaining rooted in the cultural traditions that shaped him, crafting music that bridges islands, genres, and generations.
Eli-Mac’s story reads like a fairytale–it’s a musical journey which has turned into an impressive career that took flight with her debut release of her hit five-song EP, entitled Dubstop EP. A proud Filipino growing up in Hawaii, Ciara-Camile (Eli-Mac spelled backwards) Roque Velascowas a rebel early on, combining her island music roots with her love of R&B and hip-hop. At the age of 18, Camile's journey took shape when she landed a spot on the hit TV show American Idol as a Top 10 finalist on Season 3. From there, Eli-Mac went on to record a version of Bob Marley’s “Guava Jelly,” produced by his son Stephen Marley, at Tuff Gong Studios in Jamaica. The track earned her the Hawaii Music Awards’ “Single of theYear.” Since then, Eli-Mac has been touring relentlessly across the US and beyond. A new studio album is currently in the works for this year, following up on her latest release "Resume" featuring Collie Buddz.
“I am proud to incorporate my upbringing in Hawaii into my music. That culture remains important to me....”
