Josh Caterer burst onto the Chicago punk scene in 1991 as lead singer of the legendary Smoking Popes. From their early indie albums to their critically acclaimed major label releases, the Popes developed a unique blend of buzzsaw guitars, caffeinated rhythms and heartfelt crooning vocals that influenced a generation of young pop-punk bands in their wake. On his new solo album “The Hideout Sessions” (Pravda Records), Caterer throws a surprising mix of musical ingredients into the power-pop blender, and the result is a truly savory sonic experience.
