Joro Spider Awareness Day
Schedule
Sat Oct 01 2022 at 09:00 am to 11:00 am
Location
Oconee Forest Park | Athens, GA
About this Event
Interested in learning more about Joro spiders? We will have a few expert speakers from the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Warnell School of Forestry to talk about Joro spiders and the research being done to understand them in Georgia. We will also lead spider ID walks to help you to spot and identify them compared to some of our native orb weavers.
There are plenty of parking spaces near the trailhead. It is a short walk from the trailhead to the pavilion where the speakers will talk for about an hour, and then groups will be lead around on walks to help ID the Joro spider.
