The singer and songwriter Jorge Aragão brings joy and a sense of resistance for Brazilian popular art in his new musical project. He is a composer, lyricist, musician and performer. Owner of many hits, “The Poet” as commonly referred to is interpreted by some of the greatest voices of MPB. First it was Elza Soares who made “Malandro” a hit that has spanned decades. Then came Beth Carvalho, Alcione, Leci Brandão, Ney Matogrosso, Zeca Pagodinho, Martinho da Vila, Dona Ivone Lara, Jorge Vercilo, Emílio Santiago, Negritude Jr., Exaltasamba, Art Popular, Elba Ramalho, Jair Rodrigues and many others.
This artist, who is proudly part of the samba elite that founded “Grupo Fundo de Quintal”, followed a solo career and today has a discography of more than 20 CDs. With his band, Jorge Aragão is used to performing for huge audiences, but he also loves a more intimate environment - a characteristic that makes this singer-songwriter one of the most sought after acts across Brazil and abroad.
His tour hits Europe in 2023.
