Jonathan Pinson, frontman of the band Boom Clap, is an internationally renowned artist. Through the power of his musical storytelling, his primary aim is to convey joy and a sense of calm to his audience.
A drummer since the age of seven, Jonathan Pinson is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music and the Thelonious Monk Institute at UCLA. Throughout his career, he has graced the stages of the world’s greatest jazz festivals — such as those in Newport, Montreal, Jakarta and So What’s Next — as well as legendary venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, the Village Vanguard, the Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club, Yoshi’s and Ronnie Scott’s. Most recently, he was artist-in-residence at the famous Black Cat club in San Francisco.
A highly sought-after musician, he has played and collaborated with true legends and leading figures on the current scene, including Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Kamasi Washington and Gerald Clayton. He has already caused a sensation at Toots during his appearances alongside Blue Note’s rising star Paul Cornish, and we are delighted to welcome him as bandleader for the first time in Brussels.

Batteur depuis l’âge de 7 ans, Jonathan Pinson est diplômé du prestigieux Berklee College of Music et du Thelonious Monk Institute de l’UCLA. Au fil de sa carrière, il a foulé les scènes des plus grands festivals de jazz — tels que ceux de Newport, Montréal, Jakarta ou encore So What’s Next — ainsi que des lieux mythiques comme le Hollywood Bowl, le Village Vanguard, le Blue Note, le Dizzy’s Club, le Yoshi’s et le Ronnie Scott’s. Tout récemment, il était artiste en résidence au célèbre club Black Cat de San Francisco.
Musicien très convoité, il a joué et collaboré avec de véritables légendes et figures majeures de la scène actuelle, parmi lesquelles Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Kamasi Washington ou Gerald Clayton. Il a déjà fait sensation au Toots lors de ses passages au côté de la révélation Blue Note Paul Cornish et on est ravi de l’accueillir en leader pour la première fois à Bruxelles.
