Jolene: A Celebration of the Music of Dolly Parton

All are invited to a special Jolene clubnight by candlelight, celebrating the wondrous Dolly Parton, on Friday September 25th at the Walthamstow Trades Hall.
An irresistible force of warmth, positivity, self-deprecation, humour and genuine self-worth, as well as the creator of some of the greatest music of the twentieth century, Dolly's loss runs deep. If you're like us, her songs at the moment come with a sense of loss that magnifies them ten-fold. It's too early and too much to put them on and listen to them, though they are unavoidable in the public realm.
This will be the right place and the right time to draw the line, with a crowd of like-minded and hearted people who feel their full force.
Expect to hear all of the big songs, epic covers and a few choice rarities, alongside the club's mix of country legends, outlaw and honky-tonk classics for dancing and dreaming - everything from The Carter Family to Johnny Cash, Pasty Cline to Townes Van Zandt - that sweet pedal-steel-guitar and drunken-fiddle-swing sound, and the ballad of your broken dreams.
