Dutchlink, in partnership with Randstad, is pleased to announce the upcoming arrival of the renowned clipper 'Stad Amsterdam' to Sydney this August. This occasion holds significant importance for maritime enthusiasts and history aficionados, as we anticipate the arrival of one of the world's most renowned sailing vessels to our shores.
Commissioned in 2000, this three-masted clipper honours the golden age of sail, as it is reminiscent of an era in which majestic tall ships were ruling the seas. With a steel hull and classic design elements of 19th-century frigates, the ship embodies the perfect blend of tradition and innovation.
Clipper ships, like the Stad Amsterdam, were historically renowned for their speed and grace. Designed for the rapid transport of goods and passengers across oceans, these vessels played a crucial role in global trade during the 19th century. With their sleek lines and towering masts, clippers were the epitome of maritime engineering, capable of outpacing rival ships and traversing vast distances with ease.
In 2010, the Stad Amsterdam embarked on a remarkable journey, retracing the historic voyage of Charles Darwin aboard the HMS Beagle. This expedition, chronicled in the television series Beagle: In Darwin's Wake showcased the ship's commitment to exploration and discovery.
During this journey, the Stad Amsterdam made a memorable visit to Sydney in 2011. Now, the ship is returning to Sydney in August, and we are proud to announce that Dutchlink members are invited to a unique experience on board.

Captain's Address: Learn more about the Stad Amsterdam's remarkable journey as the captain shares tales of its adventures and challenges during its travels.
Guided Tour: Step back in time as you explore the ship's decks, cabins, and crew quarters. The tour offers a glimpse into life aboard a tall ship and the intricate workings of her rigging and sails.
Refreshments: Enjoy drinks and canapés on board of the Stad Amsterdam, while taking in the stunning harbour views.
A drink and canapes are included in the ticket price.
