Dear San Franciscans & UNA Community,
As we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, we invite you on the “U.N. Charter Trail” a legendary tour led by a seasoned SF City Guide, and member of UNA.
Not many people know that San Francisco is the birthplace of the United Nations. The signing of the Charter took place here, at the United Nations Conference in 1945. During this tour, you’ll be guided to famous landmarks like U.N. Plaza, the San Francisco Public Library, City Hall, and the Veterans Building where it was ultimately signed. We end atop Nob Hill at the extraordinary Fairmont Hotel, where sophistication meets culture.
This tour takes place within a small span stretching from the Civic Center area of San Francisco up to nearby Nob Hill, taking approximately 2 hours to complete.
In the spirit of keeping this tour accessible for everyone, public transit is used to make traveling between these two main areas easier.
