With a bit of jangle, groovin’ pop, a dash of blues and pulsating rock & roll, the Johnny Batchelor Party will rattle the Gaspo on Saturday, Jan 17. Johnny’s album from last year, Ain’t Nobody, put the ex-Dropbear back on the map and a new bunch of tunes are coming soon. Be early as Paul Berwick will be opening with his sumptuous acoustic sounds, not to be missed!Paul Berwick is a punk inspired songwriter playing (mostly!) acoustic guitar solo and singing. "I've been playing in bands off and on since 1979 and I think that a hook and a good story put across with passion is the key!
"I've been the key songwriter for the following bands - Happy Happy Hate Me Nots, Paul Berwick's Magnetic Quartet, Driven, Settlement and Positive Hatred.
"My favourite artists are varied, but I really respect the work done by Bob Mould, Joe Strummer, Bob Dylan, Patti Smith, The Beatles and everyone else who comes after them!! I love all sorts of music - punk, folk, pop, funk...if it works, I'll use it in my songs. Look out for a new release of 6 tracks of my current solo work in early 2026!!
